Take the time to do the Appellation Wine Trail and visit the fine folks at Mountfair Vineyard, The Glass House Winery, White hall vineyards and Stinson Vineyards.
…where even the dog enjoys a little wine at the end of the day.

The Saunders are the owners of the Glass House, which has a yummy Pinot Gris and delicious home made chocolates.

The Stinson family- Business operated by father and daughter. Great Sauvigon Blanc

My good friends from Mountfair. Fritz makes some mighty good reds such as Wooloomooloo and Merlot.

White Hall is also a family affair. Great Pinot Gris.

I met with Maddie and Tim up in Bethesda, Maryland at the McCrillis garden, which was filled with colorful and vibrant flowers. I am looking forward to photographing their wedding at Veritas next June.

2nd Blue Ridge Oyster Festival was pure fun

New this year was the Mobjack Lounge for those who wanted the ultimate experience.

Debra on the right is a Champion oyster shucker. Her record was 26 oysters per minute.

Oyster shells were recycled.

…and yes it rained but it did not stop us from having fun.

Engagement photos at Monticello

I can’t wait to photograph Melissa and MacKenzie’s wedding in August. At the meantime we had so much fun walking around Monticello. Engagement sessions are really a wonderful way to get to know each other before the wedding day.

Blue Ridge Oyster Festival coming up

Why should you go to the Blue Ridge Oyster Fest April 21st? … maybe to win a Dave Matthews autographed poster of the wine label he created for his Blenheim Vineyards, Montfair Resort week end stay, Couture Design florist gift certificate, a photo session from yours truly and many more great prizes in the silent auction that will benefit the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the central Blue Ridge. Blenheim, will also releasing their new Red, Cardinal Point will be releasing their Chardonnay and Devil’s backbone will be releasing their new Striped Bass Pale Ale. Oh, and don’t forget the Oysters, raw, steamed and grilled, with other fine foods created by the Rock Barn.

Last year was such a great success and a fun family outing.

April is engagement month!

Looking at my calendar, it feels like April is all about engagement sessions. I love them! It is a great way to get to know your photographer before your wedding day.
In this case, it is a little different, this is my friend Susan and Michael. I am so happy for her, they will get married (officially) this June but unfortunately I won’t be present as I will be in France photographing another Wedding.
